CONGRATS!!!!
CONGRATS to Betsy and Stewart Deck on the birth of their son Lawson born 12/23. (Betsy is Adam's boss). Pictures soon to follow.
Satine...Is now Plotting my DOOM!!!!!
Poor Satine.
Tuesday I was trying to give Katie her meds and down for a nap. I was in a hurry because Bubbaman was screaming that he was hungry. Satine came in the room and I told her to go away which she did. I got the drops in Katie's eyes, sang "Lion Sleeps Tonight", picked her up in my arms and turned off the fan light. I then (without looking) went and shut the door...HARD!
and heard scratching right away. I knew what happened. I opened the door put Katie down and ran after Satine saying "I AM SO SORRY!!!" she went into the kitty room and when she saw me she ran past me and went under the bed. Katie and I both tried to get her from under the bed. I have to admit it was kind of cute hearing Katie say "Come out Satine. My Mommy says that she is sorry!"
After I finally got Katie down for a nap I looked for Satine. She was not happy with me. But she let me pet her.
We went to the inlaws for dinner. When we got home I was getting Katie for bed and Adam came over and told me that he thought we should call the vet in the morning. He said that Satine's tail had a kink in it. :( More guilt. I called up my friend Darwynn who has always had a cat and I got her opinion and she told me to take Satine to the vet to make sure that there wasn't any nerve damage. There was a good sign when I was on the phone with her when Satine jumped onto the dresser. I called the vet in the morning and got a 3:50 appointment.
I called Mam-Maw to see if she could watch the kids and then I tried to figure out how to get a cat in a carrier, a toddler ready, a baby ready and get everyone at the house by 3:30 and then the cat to the vet by 3:50. I decided to get Satine in her carrier around 2:45 so I wouldn't be running around. Adam called at 2:20 telling me that the City Manager told him to go home and to have a Merry Christmas (THANK YOU GARY!!!) When he got home we double teamed the kids and got them ready and in the car. Then got the Satine in the car and listened to her cry all the way there!
The vet took a look at her and then watched her tail. The good news was the tip of her tail was moving. That meant NO NERVE DAMAGE!!! If there is nerve damage then they cannot feel it and they will try to get rid of it themselves. We did not want that to happen. She felt her whole tail and said that there was swelling around the area (where we saw it bent) and said that there could be a broken bone. There is really nothing that they can do about it. She gave us pain killers (in liquid not pills) for her and sent us home. Then we listened to her cry all the way home and went to the inlaws for dinner and took the kids home.
So now I am looking over my shoulder because I know that she is plotting my DOOM!!!

Hee Hee Hee....I've done that...
Back in 1976 (I think) my parents had a party for the group that my Dad worked with. It was the first (and last time) that they mixed drinks. While all the adults were having fun..my brother and I were trying to watch one to the holiday shows (can't remember which one). Well I walk up to my parents (again can't remember which one) and told them that I couldn't hear the show because they were being too loud. This reminded me of that.

Satine
When I got Satine she was a kitten and a Diva. A year later I got Connor and I realized that she wasn't as bad of a cat. She's not the typical lovable cat. If she wants attention she'll go to you. If she is hungry she will bother you. If you are not up at the crack of dawn she will run around the room and wake you up. If you are upset she will bug the crud out of you and not let you out of your sight. If you are sick she will be next to you in bed the whole entire time. If you are pregnant she will be by your side and go with you to the bathroom at 3AM.
Today Katie was sent home because she has pinkeye. It was after 2pm, Katie had a little bit of a fever and was very grumpy. I was rocking her and singing Christmas songs. Satine was outside the door wanting to come in and meowing like crazy. I realized that she wanted to come in not for me...but because Katie wasn't feeling well.
She may be a fuzzy little Diva sometimes...but in her own twisted way she does care about her humans.

UPDATE on Us.....
I know I know I know We haven't posted in a while....
So here is what is going on with us.
November we had Bubba Randal's 5 month pictures.
Isn't he CUTE!!!!
Six month pictures and Christmas family pictures are going to be next week.
Deb/Flo the peacock (or peahen)is still around. Pecking at our back door and driving us nuts.
I'm not the only one who gives Adam the "Keenan" look....
We went to the mall one Saturday and Katie found this hat.
I'm still loom knitting hats. I think Bubba is getting sick of being my model BUT he got a lot of "Oh look at him" and "Oh how cute" so I think he's okay.
Adam's character on Guild Wars got a picture with a frog. I'm sorry I don't know more of the details except for it was around 2:30 early Halloween morning and he was up celebrating "The Great Pumpkin Head" or what ever the heck it is for the weekend on Guild Wars. (I'm sure I will be corrected by Adam on what it is.)
One day I found Connor doing this....
Satine is doing well...Still Queen of the house. Still beats up on Connor letting him know that after almost SIX YEARS of being a part of our family he is STILL a guest and has every right to beat up on him every other day.
I'm doing fine. Busy. No we don't have the tree up. Yes we will have one up....sometime.

It's About time!!!
We heard rumors about this film....
In July 2006 when seeing Kevin Smith's "Clerks 2" we saw an ad for it....
Then it kept on being delayed...
and delayed....
and delayed....
and delayed....
to the point where they were then going to change the film because they didn't think that the reason why these people were going to California was a good reason. Then people (who have waited for this for YEARS) started protesting. (As far as I know they changed it back to the original idea and they may have two versions when it comes out on DVD)
Halloween 2008 Adam and I are seeing Kevin Smith's new movie "Zack and Miri" and we saw a new preview. As far as I know it looks like on FEB 6, 2009 FANBOYS WILL FINALLY BE RELEASED!!!!
BUT since it has been delayed for almost 3 years I will believe it when Adam and I are sitting in the theater.

She adopted us...we did NOT adopt her
So yesterday Adam went to look in the back yard and was going to do some work there until he ran into her....
This picture was taken about 4 feet away from her. She didn't mind him taking the picture. This morning she started pecking at our back door about 7AM. It is obvious that no one under 4 feet tall knows that it is SATURDAY and we don't need to get up at 6:30 to get ready for work!
So it looks like she's going to be part of our family. She's on her own for food and she's not coming in when it gets cold. Adam has nicked named her "the giant turkey"
Poor Satine wants to get out and attack it. Connor could care less. Katie thinks that it's pretty cool that there is a "Peacock in our back yard Mommy!!!" Bubba Randal has no idea (and could care less). Adam says that "She is tresspassing on our property we did NOT adopt her!!!!" I'm just happy that it's not the foxes.

Here are some Halloween Safety Tips for when you all go out tonight!!!! (From Jody Dean on KLUV)
HALLOWEEN SAFETY TIPS
1. When it appears that you have killed the monster, NEVER check to see if it's really dead.
2. Never read a book of demon summoning aloud, even just for kicks.
3. Do not search the basement, especially if the power has gone out.
4. If your children speak to you in Latin or any other language which they should not know, shoot them immediately. It will save you a lot of grief in the long run. However, it will probably take several rounds to kill them, so be prepared. This also applies to kids who speak with somebody else's voice.
5. When you have the benefit of numbers, NEVER pair off and go alone.
6. As a general rule, don't solve puzzles that open portals to Hell.
7. Never stand in, on, or above a grave, tomb, or crypt. This would apply to any other house of the dead as well.
8. If you're searching for something which caused a loud noise and find out that it's just the cat, GET THE HECK OUT!
9. If appliances start operating by themselves, do not check for short circuits, just get out.
10. Do not take ANYTHING from the dead.
11. If you find a town which looks deserted, there's probably a good reason for it. Don't stop and look round.
12. Don't fool with recombinant DNA technology unless you're absolutely sure you know what you're doing.

17. Beware of strangers bearing strange tools. For example: chainsaws, nail guns, hedge trimmers, electric carving knives, combines, lawnmowers, butane torches, soldering irons, band saws or any devices made from deceased companions.
18. If you find that your house is built upon a cemetery, now is the time to move in with the in-laws. (It's a toss-up. We know.) This also applies to houses that had previous inhabitants who went mad, committed suicide, died in some horrible fashion, OR had inhabitants who performed satanic practices in your house.
19. (And perhaps the most important..) Always get out as soon as the scary music starts playing.

If you are going to quote someone do it right....
I have made a vow that I would not have any political stuff on this blog. This is for Adam, myself, the kids and the 'puds. But I'm sorry I have to say something about this.
How can one person screw up a quote and the ACCUSE the media for "Misquoting" her?
Lets find out.
This is what she said.....
"I'm reading on my Starbucks mocha cup, okay? The quote of the day... It was Madeleine Albright, former Secretary of State [crowd boos] and UN ambassador. ... Now she said it, I didn't. She said, 'There's a place in Hell reserved for women who don't support other women.'"
Guess I'm going to hell.

I think that says it all.
I'm sorry if I was going to talk to thousands of people to help get elected to one of the highest government offices in the country I would at least make sure to bring the FREAKING cup to read from it! Then maybe if someone from the media did take it out of context she can say "No I said this" But she didn't. Now she has everyone out there who listens to her every word and BELIEVES that she is a great person (which she is not...look it up...we have...she's not very nice) that if they don't vote for that party that they will be going to Hell.
I'm still voting for Olive Oil....

Last Friday Katie went to school and Bubba and I went to the old office to see the girls and to get a Mammogram. ***WARNING B IS NOW GETTING ON HER SOAP BOX TO GIVE YOU A LECTURE*** October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I want to remind everyone if they are over 35 (not pregnant or trying to get pregnant) to go and get "the girls" squished. Yes I know it's something you would rather not do it's not something that is high on my list of "things to do" either but you know what it can save your life!
