No Binky

We have been trying to break Katie of to binky habit. It's been a slow process. She now just has it at nap time and bed time. If she gets it out we tell her to put it back in her crib because "it's big girl time".

Well Sunday we decided that the binky has to go. So Sunday she went down for her nap without it. She had to be rocked extra long until she was tired enough to go to sleep without it. Sunday night she was up until 9 or so playing in her crib. I have a rule of as long as she is not screaming and crying at the top of her lungs she can play all she wants. Monday she didn't take a nap until 3:30. Monday night she finally went to sleep around 9:30. Tueday she didn't take a nap at all. Tuesday night she went right down for bed at 7:45. Wednesday she didn't take a nap until 3:30. I was going to get her up at that time so she could go over to her grandparents house to swim in the kiddie pool. She got rocked exta long (she stays over night there on Wednesday nights). Today at Mom's day out she didn't take a nap at all. She came home wanted milk, peanutbutter cheese crackers (she ate the peanut butter and left the crakers there) and grahm crackers. After I got off the phone with Adam I decided to check on her and then put her down for a nap. I found her like this
sleeping
This kid was OUT like a light. I got her dressed in her PJ's and put her to bed.

I will not eat them with a family of Foxes!!! Part 3

So I decided that when I go outside (usually to get the mail) if I saw any of our neighbors I would let them know about the foxes. Well guess what I found out....

Our neighbor (Mrs N) on the right side of us had seen them thought it was a big cat. She knew about the possiums and then told me about the OWL she saw in her back yard.

Neighbors two houses down from Mrs N (Tara the dog's Dad) said that he knew about the foxes from the good neighbor he has next to him. They were in her yard and there were FOUR of them.

The neighbor on the left side of us (who is a Nanny) said that she heard about them from someone and then said "Well I have a PEACOCK in my back yard. I called animal control and they said that there are four of them in Grapevine, they are not going to do anything about it and to deal with it." She also told me that almost every night the peacock comes over and taps on her window.

Adam told Alfie the kitty's Dad and he said that his neighbor (king of the neighborhood dog) had seen them also.

Who knew that Grapevine Texas had become Animal Kingdom.

Oh and Monday night Adam's Dad brought over a trap. We haven't seen the fox family in almost a week.

I will not eat them with a fox(es)!!!! Part 2!

Will try and get pictures of this soon...

Update on the animals who are not the cats who are living in our back yard RENT FREE!

We have not ONE!

Not TWO!

But THREE! (Yes 3) Foxes in our back yard now! Looks like a Mom and two babies who are now teenagers because they are as big as her.

I have called them Larry, Curly and Mo(nique).

Adam called Animal control and they told him "You'll have to trap them and we will pick them up. We're out of traps until next week"

Which is fine by me. Some of you know that when I lived in IL we had two possums living under our porch (Fred and Fredericka) and when we got one of them trapped we realized that we trapped the "Other Man" who was our neighbors Possum. It took about a month (or it seemed like it) to get those three away from our house. I'm expecting it to be that long. I also expect Monique to be upset when her teenagers get trapped *crossing fingers*

Our back yard basically has the lawn mowed and that it is. It has been run over by weeds so it is perfect for the fuzzy family to hide. After they are caught and in the fall then Adam and I are going to rip up the back yard stuff to make it non-tempting to live here. Don't worry KATIE DOES NOT GO INTO OUR BACK YARD!!! She goes to Rick and Barbara's house to play in a back yard.
