July 22, 2003 Adam and I re-met again with the help of Lisa Richards (Thank you Lisa!). We met at Grapevine Mills mall, had dinner at Corner bakery and saw a movie. We met the first time in 1997 when my Mom started working at the Grapevine Library part time. She always said that if Adam was just a little bit older she would of set us up. The last time Adam and I saw each other was in 1999.
So four years later I was talking to Lisa and she asked if I was seeing anyone. I (of course) started laughing. She told me all about this "Adam" guy and said that her sister had known him all of his life. I told her to go ahead and give him my phone number. On July 20th Lisa called me to give me Adam's number. "After you talk to him call me! And he seemed really excited to hear from you". So I waited until July 21. Made a date for July 22.
Now I didn't realize that this was the same Adam from the library. It had been four years. I have slept since then. A lot has happened since then and we have both changed. It wasn't until we were coming back from a friends house in Little Elm and he mentioned working for the city (of Grapevine) that I realized that it was him.
So on July 22, 2006 we dropped the boogerbear off at Grandma's (yes I will admit it...I cried when I left her there)then we went to Grapevine Mills mall to see the 10:35AM showing of Clerks 2. The movie was good. Not for the faint of heart (or ears). I know I was one of the few women to be at this showing (and laughing). After that we went to Frisco to Stonebriar Mall to eat at Dave and Busters. Then we went to Ben and Jerry's over in Plano. Then it was to the Embassy Suites in Irving (because the one in Grapevine wanted almost $300.00 for the night). Got back at 11:30 to eat lunch and take the boogerbear home.

Katie decided to take over for her Dad today. Being a web designer can't be that hard. Just sit back, relax, and take a little well deserved nap... right?

Now I'm going to have to buy a new HawaiiUP shirt, since Katie's feet prints are on this one. Her Mom has forbidden me to wash it. Guess I'll have to frame it or something. Pity, I really like that shirt.

Here she is! Everybody say hi to Katie Ellen Eakins! She was born at 7:12 p.m. and weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces, 20.5 inches long. More pictures to come.
Sorry the posting to the website didn't go as well as planned, but if you click the picture above you can get to more pictures on our flickr account! You can also click the Baby Stuff link on the right column too!

Baby warmer is being primed. She's jumped from 3cm to nearly 10. Baby will be here soon.

Nap time. Epidural is in and all that entails. She's feeling a little better now. It was a bit rough there for a while. We've made it through the original trilogy, and are almost finished with the first prequel.

The universe has turned upside down if these two are playing nice.

Well it's Tuesday again, so that must mean we're at Pete's for lunch. No baby yet.

I decided to reorganize my DVD collection today. I moved this DVD rack along with a couple CD holders in front of the fireplace. Not like we have ever or will ever use the fireplace, might as well make the space functional. My wife will roll her eye's when she reads this but I organized everything by rating... and alphabetized... and grouped the Disney, Muppets, and cartoons together.
Hey, I just graduated with a Master's in Library and Information Sciences people. I have to alphabetize! I left everything out of order for a year, I think that's long enough.
Besides what else was I supposed to do on a Holiday... while waiting for a baby to decide if she wants to be born.

I also moved all the R rated stuff, TV stuff we watch regularly, and my cartoons (anime and the like) over here.

Satine is very upset because in the process of reorganizing my DVDs, I moved her box. This box is her second favorite place to lounge. She's also upset because...

...someone is sleeping in Satine's favorite spot!

Just testing how to send pictures directly from my cellphone to our blog. If it works then expect this to be where the first pictures of Katie will appear. Whenever she decides to be born.

So I work for the City of Euless now, which means part of what I do is pick the Pet of the Week for the website. I like to use that as an excuse to run by the shelter from time to time. That way I get to go play with the inmates. This orange cat here hasn't made the Pet of the Week yet, but maybe next time if no one has adopted him. His name is Oliver.
If you live anywhere near Euless, TX and are looking for a pet please give the animal shelter a look. They have lots of cats and dogs up for adoption that could use some nice homes. How can you turn down a face like Oliver's!?!

If you listen real close you can almost hear her growing... and then she'll kick you in the ear! Check out flickr for a few more baby related pics. The kid is almost here, just a matter of weeks. Place your bets people!

Started my new job today as the Web Designer for the City of Euless. I meet a lot of people today, and I can't remember most of their names... but I'll get them down at some point! I even have an office! I've only ever had a cubicle up until now. I've got to bring my ipod tomorrow though... the office is quiet as a tomb. Also have to find something to put on the walls... they're quite bare at the moment.

Satine's special friend is the humidifier. Watch her attempt to use her psychic powers to will the machine to turn on! She's a nut.

Bridget's swollen feet courtesy of the growing baby in her belly.

My cousin April and her family are moving to Tucson, Arizona. They stopped by the Granbury Grandparents for a little eat, talk, and laugh time. We even managed to take this big family picture. This is most of the family, minus just a couple members.

Here's the crib and changing table... I'll try and get a better picture later.
