This is a poem written from my Nana to my Grandpa Keenan before she died....

Remember...

When it's time for us to say good-bye
Please my love, please don't cry
We have so many days to be thankful for
I never could ask for more.
Remember all the good times we had
forget the few times that were bad
There were times I know I made you mad
Remember all the times I made you glad.

Remember the first time I said I love you
No words were ever spoken that were more true
The days we spent together I shall never forget
why do my eyes feel so wet?
We both knew the time would come
when we would have to part
Why to I have such pain in my heart?
How do you say to someone who made your life?
My happiest day was when you made me your wife.

Remember my love even though we have to part
You will always be in my heart
Remember we shared a love that was so rare and true
I know in my heart I'll never be apart from you.
So kiss me my love and say good-bye
I don't want you to see me cry
Remember my love I'll always love you
and thank you for a love that was so rare and true.

Mom and Dad were a team. Dad got up every morning somewhere between 4:30 to 5:30 and was on the job be 7:00 am be it 20 miles down the road or in downtown NYC. He worked on one story shopping centers on over 50 stories buildings all of NYC. He work anyday that a roof was dry. I cold be zero and windy or 95 and still, He be on the roof. Always in long pants and a long white shirt roofing and teaching others how to roof with hot tar be safe. For a mistake would burn you, he knew -dad was burned twice.
One weekends he always have a job. Either doing little roof jobs or hanging gutters or whatever. If he could not find a job on the weekend he was putting and extention on our house or helping someone else with their house.
Mom handled everything else all of boys and all the finances. For on Friday all a long week Dad came home and gave her the payroll check and rested. On Saturday he went to work again on a weekend job or project. Love you Dad and miss you. Hope God needs an extention or a new roof - He will for He will know that is what you really cherish. Love Pat
