Meet Pinto

Last Saturday we had Randal's 10 month pictures done with the Bluebonnets (it's a Texas thing)

The green thing is a plastic dog that Uncle Bill gave Katie about two years ago. Katie started taking interest in it about two months ago and decided to 'name' the dog. But didn't tell us the name so we got confused when she told us that she wanted to play with "Pinto".

Just Between Friends sale/ New Stroller

As you know spring is around the corner and you know what that means. Scarborough Faire will be here in about a month. A couple of weeks ago Adam and I were talking about getting a new stroller that could handle what the Faire throws at us (rain, heat, sun, mud and snow) I said that the only thing that could probably handle it would be a double jogging stroller with big wheels. So I was off on my mission....

Well tonight Carolyn and I went to the preview sale for Just Between Friends a consignment sale. Walked in went to the strollers and saw this

Now this is an almost $300.00 stroller going for about $150.00! I called Adam told him what it looked like and said "yeah it can fit in the car" and for the rest of the night hung out with Carolyn looking at clothes and chatting away.

So I paid for the stroller and went to the door to get it. Then tried to figure out how to get this thing folded and into the trunk of my car. Took about 5 minutes to figure that out and another three with me saying "please get in my car please get in my car" as both of us were shoving it in there. I am proud to say that it fits.

So now we are ready to go to the Faire. First test drive will be over at Grapevine Mills Mall on Thursday morning. It will also get both the kids used to being beside each other.

Miss you Murphy

When I was up in NY I was able to see Murphy Dad (and Teresa's) dog. He had been living with Dad for almost a year. Today I got a phone call letting me know that Murphy died in his sleep this morning.

Will miss you Murph! I'm sure Hamlet, Rocky and Lieutenant are showing you around with Mom and Grandpa Keenan.

This is a poem written from my Nana to my Grandpa Keenan before she died....

Remember...

When it's time for us to say good-bye
Please my love, please don't cry
We have so many days to be thankful for
I never could ask for more.
Remember all the good times we had
forget the few times that were bad
There were times I know I made you mad
Remember all the times I made you glad.

Remember the first time I said I love you
No words were ever spoken that were more true
The days we spent together I shall never forget
why do my eyes feel so wet?
We both knew the time would come
when we would have to part
Why to I have such pain in my heart?
How do you say to someone who made your life?
My happiest day was when you made me your wife.

Remember my love even though we have to part
You will always be in my heart
Remember we shared a love that was so rare and true
I know in my heart I'll never be apart from you.
So kiss me my love and say good-bye
I don't want you to see me cry
Remember my love I'll always love you
and thank you for a love that was so rare and true.

Thumb

This is how he usually is now. With his woobie (blanket) and his thumb in his mouth.
I love this picture!!

New President

Doesn't matter if you voted for him or not today history was made. Now lets get to work!!!

Remember When the Music
by Harry Chapin

Remember when the music
Came from wooden boxes strung with silver wire
And as we sang the words, it would set our minds on fire,
For we believed in things, and so we'd sing.

Remember when the music
Brought us all together to stand inside the rain
And as we'd join our hands, we'd meet in the refrain,
For we had dreams to live, we had hopes to give.

Remember when the music
Was the best of what we dreamed of for our children's time
And as we sang we worked, for time was just a line,
It was a gift we saved, a gift the future gave.

Remember when the music
Was a rock that we could cling to so we'd not despair,
And as we sang we knew we'd hear an echo fill the air
We'd be smiling then, we would smile again.

Oh all the times I've listened, and all the times I've heard
All the melodies I'm missing, and all the magic words,
And all those potent voices, and the choices we had then,
How I'd love to find we had that kind of choice again.

Remember when the music
Was a glow on the horizon of every newborn day
And as we sang, the sun came up to chase the dark away,
And life was good, for we knew we could.

Remember when the music
Brought the night across the valley as the day went down
And as we'd hum the melody, we'd be safe inside the sound,
And so we'd sleep, we had dreams to keep.

And I feel that something's coming, and it's not just in the wind.
It's more than just tomorrow, it's more than where we've been,
It offers me a promise, it's telling me "Begin",
I know we're needing something worth believing in.

Remember when the music
Came from wooden boxes strung with silver wire
And as we sang the words, it would set our minds on fire,
For we believed in things, and so we'd sing.

Do you like Bread???

Every so often I get on this cooking kick. Well yesterday I was looking at a friends post and saw the site to Hillbilly Housewife and how to make bread. So yesterday afternoon I decided to try it. It didn't turn out well. Adam liked it. I knew that I was missing something. I found out I totally skipped a step. OOPS! So this morning I'm trying it again.

We have also decided to save a pamper diaper tree and went with Cloth Diapers. I have checked with friends and asked them worked for them. Bubbman is now wearing Bumgenius 3.0 cloth diapers and they work wonders! We will still use pampers every so often but not as much.

Pictures will be posted soon!

I've seen that look before....

We are getting some slides from my family transferred over (small groups at a time) and I got some back today. I saw a picture of me when I was six. I was living in IL and I think it was for a birthday party for some kids in the neighborhood.

This is the picture of me:

Now when I was looking at it I kept on thinking 'I have seen this look before...where have I seen this look...' After digging I found it.

Yeah...the kid doesn't look like me.
