HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY ADAM
Tomorrow April 29 will be Adam's birthday. He's going to be 28.
He got his birthday gifts early. I got him tickets to go see the musical "Wicked" when it comes to Dallas. The puds got him "silent Bob strikes back" by Kevin Smith (who directed clerks, mallrats, chasing Amy, Dogma, andJersey Girl) and will be personally signed by Kevin Smith also. What the puds didn't tell me (or I didn't see) is that we don't know when the book will arrive. Since it is personally signed it depends on his schedule. Could be 6-8 weeks.
So even though his gifts are on the way so to speak he was very happy to get them from us.
Went to Walmart to get food (that we are very low on) and looked at the card section....Walmart is not a place to get birthday cards for Adam. He showed me a model of an AT-AT and I told him that he had a choice...getting these (in my opinion) lame cards or getting a model...He chose the model (thank goodness).
29 more days until the wedding. 4 weeks and 1 day until wedding. 3 weeks and 1 day until vacation...not that I am counting or anything.
Are we ready? I think so.

EPISODE III TICKETS
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith tickets are now on sale for AMC theaters. We already have our tickets for the midnight showing.
Mayhem and the Faire
Last weekend began our yearly adventures down near Waxahachie, Texas. Yes my friends, Scarborough Faire is once again filled with odd people in interesting costumes, speaking in strange tongues. The Faire is running every weekend (Sat, Sun) until Memorial Day (okay... Sat, Sun, and just one Mon).
In some related Faire news... A member of a music group (The Rogues), that we always make a point to see at the Faire, died last year. Mayhem was working security for the band Damageplan, when an incident with a disturbed "fan" occurred. Sharon Wothke recounts what has happened since that unfortunate day.

The Incredibles
The Incredibles DVD came out last Tuesday, which I had no choice but to buy during lunch. If you haven't heard of this Oscar winning computer animated film from Pixar, then you've been living under a very heavy rock. You can see a trailer over on the apple site, if you need to catch up.
The DVD is great, with tons of extras. There should have been more gag/out-take bits, but that's okay. The short film called "Jack-Jack's Attack", showing what the babysitter had to deal with when caring for the super family's baby, is just hilarious. This DVD is worth even penny (though it was a steal for $13.99 at Fry's).

My Paw Is Law!
Satine, the beloved owner of this web site's mascot, has managed to take control of her own small country. If you care to follow the evolution of her authoritative leadership style (she is a narcissistic feline after all), head on over to NationStates. Once there, keep your eyes open for the Queendom of GreatWhitePaw.

Amber's Wedding: Pre-Show Thoughts
So my sister is getting married tomorrow. Tonight we're rehearsing, and then there will be food. Tomorrow I'll be in my penguin suit trying to do my part without causing trouble.
I'm getting married myself in May, so I'll be looking to see what works and what doesn't during my little sister's ceremony. I'm sure it will go on without a hitch, because she won't let things go wrong. Let's just hope the pictures come out... I mean I'm going to be in them. If I'm lucky my eyes won't be shut when the flash goes off.
Everyone keep your fingers crossed!

Happy New Year!
Well I guess I should post....
145 days until the wedding. Have the dress, bridesmaids, tuxs, chapel, and will be e-mailing a DJ to let him know that he has our business.
We have toyed with the idea of having the 501st Storm troopers at our wedding. Do you really think that I wouldn't have something that has to do with Star Wars in our wedding? As I was on the site www.501st.com I also came across a site for the founder of the Troopers daughter Katie who is 6 years old and diagnosed with a brain tumor. Empire or not she really pulls at the heartstrings.
Connor and Satine are doing well and will most likely be happy when Adam and I go back to work on Monday UGH!!!

Happy New Year 2005!
This promises to be an interesting year. My sister gets married in about a week, and we're having our "big" wedding party come May. Can't wait for the honeymoon (Disney World if we're lucky).
Had a fun night of playing 90's Trivial Pursuit at my sister's new house in Fort Worth. One of the answers was actually slashdot.org. It helped that there was an entire category on technology.
Also I just started using a tool that runs on the background on my computer. It is a project called World Community Grid. It is a project aided by IBM that takes the extra computer power that's normally just sitting idle and uses it to solve big science problems.
My computer JUST finished processing its first bit of the problem and is sending back its result now! So my first action of the year is to help solve some scientific puzzle. Warm fuzzies for all!!!

Philips and Verizon
Just found out what Verizon is up to in my neighborhood. Actually, they knocked out my phone service over the weekend but since I wasn't home it didn't matter much. I knew they are running Fiber Optics into the neighborhoods, but I didn't know what the service is actually going to be like. Thanks to Slashdot I now know:
Verizon Taking FTTP Installation Orders
The fiber optics are going to come all the was to the house, I think. We're talking speeds of up to 30Mbps down and 5Mbps up (also 15/2 and 5/2). The pricing is better than I'm paying for Comcast (3Mbps/256K). I've been mad at Verizon in the past, but if they do this all is forgiven!
Also on the techie front, I bought a new toy yesterday! It is a DVD player by Philips that not only plays DVDs, but also MP3 CDs, JPEG Slideshows, AND (the cool part) Divx/MPEG4,2,1 video files burned to either DVD-R or CDR! Its what I've been waiting for! All that money I've burned on PlayStation 2 Media Players, a TV with a fancy port I didn't need, all solved by a $70 DVD player. I just hope it keeps working because I'm in hog heaven right now!
