STATE CHAMPS
Congrats to Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas who won their THIRD STATE championship in a row and the FOURTH Championship in FIVE YEARS! It was a game that had me watching another channel and checking every so often to see how they were doing. The only other game that had me do that was the Trinity vs Carroll game about a month ago. Austin Westlake basically stopped the Dragons in their tracks the whole first half and did it by having possession of the ball most of the time.

Anniversary and Birthday
I was looking at the screen and hearing the words "Looks like it's going to be a girl"
I held back the tears until she left. (I would of cried if it was a boy also)
I also thanked my Mom. Who would have been 59 last year. Katie's middle name is for Mom. The angel who got us together.
Happy 60th birthday Mom. We miss you and think about you every day.

Ah...Texas Weather
Okay so past three days have been hot! In the 75-80 degree range. Tuesday I was turning on the air conditioning because it was warm in the house.
This morning on the other hand it's 30 freaking degrees and there is freezing rain. Everyone said that it would get bad so I went out and got food incase we were unable to go anywhere. Adam checked with work and promised me that he would call when he got there and leave if the HEB school district was closing early. The news people have been talking about the weather over and over again since 4 or 4:30 am. Now to be in competition because "They were there!!" there has been no regular programing.
I'm sorry maybe it's because I lived up north for half of my life...but lets get over it. Yes it is cold. Yes there is freezing rain and maybe snow. Yes the roads will be bad but IF YOU DRIVE SAFE you won't have a problem. Yes it will be SUNNY and 49 DEGREES TOMORROW lets MOVE ON!!! Get your news people who are outside describing the freezing rain hitting their face "hard like little needles" inside the van, give them some hot chocolate, tell everyone NOT to go outside and check the ticker to see if your kids school is closed and get back to Price is right, All my Children, Y&R and all the other stuff!!!
In other news...The Eakins Christmas tree is up. We got it out of the box lastnight while watching "Charlie Brown Christmas". It's a prelit tree and we'll decorate it tonight...maybe. The tree is up which (for me) is a big deal!

No that is not a misprint. Yes she is in daycare. They had "school pictures" at the beginning of October. We told Grandma Barbara that when she looked at them if she wanted to buy them it was fine. So she got the pictures.
Now look beyond the cute smile, the dimples, the laughing eyes, her perfectly round 'Charlie Brown' head (hey I can say that!! I'm her MOM!) with hair growing...and look at her hand.
Yes...that's right! Our sweet, loving, happy in the morning, daughter is flipping the bird!
So if she does this for her first school picture...will she be mooning us in her senior class picture???
Come back in about 17 years and we'll let you know.

Baby Announcement
Heirs to the Empire
by tuskentrooper on Wed Sep 20, 2006 9:25 pm
501st Legion Founder Albin Johnson and wife Kathy Johnson are proud parents once again! Twin girls Elizabeth (5 lbs. 2 oz.) and Julianna (5 lbs. 6 oz.) came into this world safely this evening in Columbia, South Carolina. The family thanks everyone for their loving support during Kathy's pregnancy. Congratulations to the whole family! On a related note, there are no plans to separate the twins nor hide their Imperial lineage at this time.

The Time of No Sleep

This week has been a little rough. Sure we had last Monday off, but that didn't seem to help the sleep deprivation. Bridget woke up at 3 a.m. the other night and couldn't get back to sleep. Katie has made a habit of getting up at 5 a.m. all week, which is about an hour before we'd like her to.
Guess we can't complain though, she does sleep through the night most of the time. She's just turned 3 months, so she's doing great. Actually we all slept until after 6 a.m. today, baby was smiling and us parents are less cranky. Thank all that is good, it's Friday!
Going for 3 month pictures tomorrow, so check back later this weekend!

What I Did on my Summer Vacation
I start work tomorrow. Miss Velma is going to Vegas and with a promise that she will share her winnings when she hits the jackpot I agreed to fill in for her. (I will also get paid for the holiday). Katie has been in daycare since Monday. She seems to enjoy it. Took her a couple of days to adjust (and Mommy too!). The big test will be tomorrow when Mommy and Daddy drop off the boogerbear and then off to work.
My new obsession is the Lego Star Wars game. I should be working on my belly dance costume that I plan on wearing for beginner graduation at the end of September..but this game is so cool!!! Lego Star Wars 2 is coming out on September 12th.
Other than that Adam and I decided that we are going to have the cats out and running around the house soon time for all of us to be a family (and the cats need to run around and lose some weight!!!!)

Back to Bellydance
I am SO out of shape!!!!!!
Decided that I will probably stay with the beginner class until their graduation at the end of September and then go to the advanced one class. I know she won't mind and I've been in advanced one for almost three years (wedding/baby/life happens) and she doesn't have a time table for when we advance after beginner graduation.
Katie and I went to the daycare that she will be going to next Monday. I will be going back to work on Friday Sept 1. They have her crib ready for her. There are about 7 babies in there (I think). Looking for a mobile for her crib there now. Got her a miniature pooh bear for her (she has a large one that looks after her in her pack and play).

Remembering Katie Johnson
Home
Satine has given Katie her stamp of approval which is basically putting her head up against Katie's and rubbing it. It's her way of saying "This is mine now"
So Katie and I went to see G&G Burgess last Thursday and got back yesterday afternoon. She was WONDERFUL on the plane. I fed her when we took off both times and when we landed I made sure that her NUK was in her mouth. She screamed and cried before we got on the plane and I tried to calm her down but I also mumbled "go ahead...get it all out now"
G&G Burgess LOVED her. She was a real character. My friends that I have known since JR High came over and just loved her.
last night we went over to see Adam's parents and dropped off Katie to go to dinner. I'm so thankful that they live close by!
Went to the office today to see how everyone was. Velma (Mom of the group) and I were getting ready when (Auntie) LaShun took the carrier with Katie in it and moved it by her desk. "Are you going to babysit while (Grandma) Velma and I go out to lunch?" I asked. "Yep" She replied. "Okay I'll get her bag" Told her when she was fed and ran out the door before Katie started to cry. We got back early from lunch (because Velma wanted to hold Katie before she went back to work) and found out that she was passed around to everyone in the office and was smiling, laughing and talking to everyone. They still don't believe that the child does cry...:)
Katie's two month appointment will be on Friday at 9:30. She's also getting her two month picture done on Saturday at Noon (pictures will be scanned and posted).
